A little morning horror from r/justrolledintotheshop:

How hard did they hit that sidewalk!?!

I love that the service advisor literally called it
“
The Butt Part
”
of the heated seat. I
’
m sure after all that
“
hubcap
”
stuff, his fucks had all been given away for the day. (EDIT: The handwritten WHEEL BEARS could explain the rim damage. Either that or he
’
s ordering Ronal Bears, which would be awesome)

I have questions.

I’m more concerned what idiot service advisor even wrote that order up couldn’t see it in the first placed, and type “hub cap” in the system.

Ouch. Hurt wheel, hurt pocket.
![]() 02/21/2017 at 10:57 |

Hard enough, clearly.

I’m concerned that they seem to have initially thought that it needed wheel bearings for a rumble, not having taken a look at the wheel and gone “OH SHIT”. That is, assuming that the wheel bearings aren’t also trashed somehow.

Depending on the shop. I’ve had plenty of service guys just write down what I said without walking out to the car.

AAHHH THERE ARE BEARS ON THE WHEEL NOW?!?!

I guess these guys were more sales people than techs after all. I know at one dealership my friend worked as a receptionist, she said she was about to tryout for an advisor role. Ended up at another dealer now as a sales rep.

That...that took effort.

Or possibly massive, massive understeer in the rain or snow.

You are a more generous person than I.

Not as much as this chap, most likely:

I’m willing to grant they’re inept and blind for not recognizing the true problem, but at the same time there’s at least a chance this time of year of common levels of twit being responsible, rather than legendary.

Have seen the same within past 3 months. Happened on one of the days we had some snow. Was a curb casualty as well. Customer came into our service department, wanted to price a hubcap and blowing up their tire. Needed lots more.

Legendary is more fun to laugh at. Common is more “there but for the grace of God go I” and hits too close to home. I have curb rash on my “hub caps” and don’t like to think that I could be this guy in worse conditions.

I lost an alloy wheel not too long ago myself. Tire was low, didn’t feel it, drove over a hole hard enough to crack the bead lip.

Ugh. Sorry to hear.

I was able to get a new used one off eBay for $80, so it wasn’t terrible.

I’ve thought about doing the same for my scraped wheels, but my shame hasn’t yet surpassed my laziness and cheapness quotients.

It still holds air?

Apparently it did, somewhat. I’m as surprised as you.
